Community Call Out: Stories of Golden along the Rotary Trail

What makes Golden so Golden? The people, of course! And their stories. And we want to hear yours.

Tourism Golden is working on the Golden Stroll, a self-guided interpretive walking tour along the Rotary Trail in town. You’ll be able to scan QR codes to watch and listen to stories as you stroll/ bike along, connecting you to the locations that you walk through.

We’re looking to collect stories large and small…tales of people, places, histories, and nature. These stories can be anything! Here are a few prompts to jog your memory:

• Settlement and history

• Industries

• Connection to the land and water

• Indigenous Peoples

• Nature & Geology

• Myths, fables, and fairytales of Golden

If you have a personal experience, story or even an interesting fact you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you. Please email Frances at frann.morphy@gmail.com with the title “Golden Stories” and your information.

We’re excited to hear from you!

Take a look back at these archival pages from the Golden Star and Golden News about the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge.

Built in 2001 by volunteer timber framers and locals, this iconic bridge is Canada’s longest freestanding timber-frame structure and a true symbol of community connection.

Now, 25 years later, it’s time to celebrate!

Join us at Spirit Square tomorrow evening (Saturday, Sept 26) to celebrate the 25th anniversary. See you there, Golden!
  • A pretty great way to celebrate 25 years! 🎬🍿

The Princess Bride, popcorn, hot chocolate and a beautiful evening spent outside together.

Thanks to the Golden & District Community for hosting such a fun night!
