“In a town of phenomenal athleticism, there must be phenomenal artists who deserve their chance to shine”. This is what musician, Molly Roth, thought when she relocated to Golden, BC, to reside with her fiancé coming from Los Angeles, California. So, in 2023, she started the Golden School of Rock at the local Youth Centre downtown for kids ages 11-18 years old.
Coming together for “band practice” weekly, the kids work out and refine their musical set list and live performance skills for 12 rehearsals, leading up to their big day, performing for the public at the Civic Center. Last year’s band, Noise Pollution, curated an amazing set list and performed to a packed audience with a bang and continue to practice on their own and perform live to this day. This year, the new School of Rock band, called “Echos of Rock”, is set to give their live debut on Thursday, June 20th at 7pm. The kid’s range from age 11 to 17 years old and will perform an array of genres from pop to rock; all songs they have chosen themselves to perform. School of Rock veterans, Noise Pollution, will also be a featured act, following Echos of Rock’s performance.

This event is free of charge for the community with an optional donation, which will be given to the youth center to provide more events, classes, snacks, and a safe space for kids to go after school.
Echos of Rock is comprised of Kinley Bowle-Evans (vocals), Aziza Rubenstein (vocals & guitar), Philip England (keyboard & vocals), Jack Hendricks (drums), and will feature Patricio Salcedo Tendilla on drums as well.
“I hope this show can inspire other kids in the community for next year who want to be a part of a new group of young musicians as well!”, Molly says.
