Wildsight is raising money this year to continue Wildsight Golden’s climate action and conservation programs.
An online auction will kick off Oct. 2 and run until the 13, with the goal of raising $5,000.
Wildsight programs include studying and enhancing habitat for threatened bird species, understanding land use on the West bench, reducing invasive species, working on education about how to improve air quality, as well as community education programs.
Wildsight Golden’s main objective is to work to maintain biodiversity and healthy human communities in and around the region. Its focus is on protecting the high ecological values of the Columbia headwaters region, which continues to be one of the richest and most biologically diverse regions in the world.
“We participate effectively in government and community processes to promote the protection of clean air, forests, water, and overall biodiversity,” stated Wildsight.
The Golden branch works in partnership with Wildsight Regional and other Wildsight branches on several initiatives.
The auction will close at 10 p.m. Oct. 13 and all items can be picked up the following week.
“Our Golden community has been awesome at sharing their items and we have everything from homemade socks, coffee, gift cards, cutting boards, sports passes to propane being offered to bid on,” said Wildsight.
