Four Points Bookstore: The Eden Test By Adam Sternbergh
Should love be tested?
This is a question that went through my mind as I began to read The Eden Test. I first saw this novel at my other favourite bookstore, Monroeโs in Victoria and knew immediately that I needed to read it.
I came home and ordered two for the store and one for me (thatโs a fairly normal procedure in case you were wondering!)
A rustic cabin nestled in a stunning wooded retreat in a remote area – check. A plan gets changed, and everything goes sideways – check. Suspense, lies and second guessing – check.
Love and marriage get complicated – check. And Laura Dave, one of my favourite thriller writers, loved it. Big check.
One of the aspects I love most about thrillers is the twists and turns.
I always think I am going to figure it out, and I am so pleased when Iโm totally wrong. This book took me up and down, back and forth, and it was true to its genre: thrilling.
Donโt tell my bosses, but I am pretty sure Sternbergh had to use a spreadsheet to keep all the details straight (Grant and Thiloma love spreadsheets, me, not so much!).
Whatever he did, it worked because the book flows like Kicking Horse in August, and I couldnโt put it down until it was done.
