Coyote Manufacturing Company – Inspired by a legendary boat-building and racing family, Coyote Manufacturing produces world-class aluminum hull boats right here in Parson, BC.

Located just off Highway 95 South, their small team works out of a modern workshop, crafting boats by hand from design all the way through to delivery.

Coyote founder Rob Chrunyk grew up with jet boats in his blood. His father, Fred Chrunyk, was one of the pioneers of jet boating, building and running his own boats since the 1960s, until his retirement from the sport in the early 1990s. His legacy included many famous campaigns under the original Coyote logo.

With the help of his father, Rob himself competed in river racing and in 1982 became the youngest person to win the world jet boat racing title at the age of 23. He’s operated several boat manufacturing companies over the past three decades, with his latest venture being to re-establish the Coyote name in honour of his father’s legacy.

In the fall of 2016, Coyote Manufacturing was formed with the same uncompromising commitment to quality and innovation that has made “Chrunyk” designs a standard in competitive river racing.

Although Rob recently retired from Coyote, he remains heavily involved in research and design. New owners, Angie Craig and her partner, are working hard to continue the family’s legacy.

“I’m excited to embark on this new venture and honoured to uphold the proud name of Coyote Manufacturing. Building quality boats in Canada, for Canadians!” said Craig.

Having experienced a surge in boat sales during COVID, the company now produces about 40 boats per year, offering both inboard and outboard models. Their lineup ranges from the 16-foot Otter Outboard Jet to the impressive 25-foot Pursuit model. Distribution is currently handled through a network of dealers in BC and Alberta—something Craig says she hopes to expand. She wants to see as many Coyotes on lakes and rivers as possible.

“Our boats don’t look like any others. Look at our competitors—you can see aluminum lines throughout the hull. You can’t see those lines on our boats,” Craig said proudly from the company’s Parson office. “We’d like to get our boats into the Vancouver Boat Show for 2026,” she added. The company is also considering exporting their high-quality hulls to the U.S. market in the future.

Craig is also very complimentary of her staff. “They’re great employees. I couldn’t ask for more talented, amazing people. Many have been with the company for a long time. From our Floor Manager to our welder, rigger, painter and upholsterer, we’ve been able to find talented people locally. We’re very lucky.”

The company expanded its workshop in 2024, adding an additional welding bay and paint booth. This expansion has allowed them to offer custom paint jobs—a service that has grown very popular with their clients. Most impressive is the fact that they do nearly everything in-house, from designing their own models to cutting and welding their aluminum hulls to installing upholstery and electronics. The workshop bustles with activity, with several finished boats and prototypes displayed outside.

Coyote Manufacturing will be hosting an open house on May 3rd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their Parson workshop, located at 4429 Graham Road. Come check out their wonderful line of locally made boats, meet their staff, grab a hot dog and enter for a chance to win some Coyote merchandise and a 20-minute helicopter ride.
