Personal Touch reopens downtown, welcoming clients into beautiful space

After five years of owning Personal Touch, aesthetician Lisa Tang has given the long-running Golden salon a fresh start in a new downtown location โ€” one that comes with both increased visibility and a meaningful family connection.

Tang, who has been an aesthetician for 10 years, purchased the business in April 2021. At the time, it was still operating from its previous location, where it had served the community for decades. Personal Touch has been part of Golden for close to 40 years, she explained, and even carried a different name in its early days.

โ€œIt used to be called Perfect Touch,โ€ Tang said. โ€œItโ€™s nice to keep the name.โ€

The decision to relocate came when her parents, owners of the Red Diamond Restaurant, chose to downsize. Tang saw an opportunity โ€” one that would bring her closer to family and give the salon a new home.

She took over half the restaurant building and transformed it into a modern, efficient salon space.

โ€œWho would have thought that a restaurant would turn into a salon?โ€ she said with a laugh. โ€œMy parents wanted to downsize, and itโ€™s great to be downtown.โ€

The move also came with a personal benefit. As a mother to a two-and-a-half-year-old son, having her parents next door has made balancing business and family life easier.

โ€œItโ€™s really lovely having family close by,โ€ she said. โ€œNow that I have a two-and-a-half-year-old, itโ€™s great to have grandparents nearby.โ€

The transition wasnโ€™t without challenges. The salon was closed for six months during renovations, and delays made the reopening highly anticipated among clients. But Tang says the wait was worth it.

Although the new space is smaller than the previous building, she and her team have been able to use it more efficiently โ€” and serve more clients.

โ€œWeโ€™re really happy with how we used the space,โ€ she said. โ€œEven though itโ€™s smaller, we can take more clients.โ€

The downtown location has also brought a noticeable increase in walk-ins, boosting business for Tang and the stylists and aestheticians who work alongside her.

With the doors now open, Tang wants the community to know that Personal Touch is ready to welcome both familiar faces and new visitors.

โ€œWeโ€™re still here,โ€ she said. โ€œJust in a new spot โ€” and weโ€™re excited to be part of downtown.โ€
