GET WILD with Wildsight Golden.

GET WILD with Wildsight Golden.

Get Wild Outdoor Adventure: Are your kids ready to GET WILD!? Spots are still open for summer camp.

Wildsight Golden is delighted to welcome Robyn, our new Camp Coordinator for this year’s GET WILD! summer day camp. She’s eagerly awaiting the arrival of all the young adventurers to join camp this season.

A plethora of fun activities are on the agenda, including bird watching, swimming, volunteering, and hiking, not to mention weekly field trips to local hotspots!

2025 marks the 11th annual GET WILD! summer outdoor environmental education camp for children aged 6-10. The camp will run weekly from July 7th until August 22nd, operating from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday.

There’s still room for more adventurers during Week 2 (July 14-18), Week 5 (August 5-8), and Week 7 (August 18-22). GET WILD!’s mission is to inspire youth to connect with their community and nature through engaging and inclusive outdoor activities. The camp offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn about local ecosystems through play and exploration.

This program is the ideal choice for parents who wish for their children to spend their summer outdoors, returning home each day filled with excitement, a little bit of dirt, and a whole lot of happiness.

So, if a summer of adventure and learning sounds appealing, find out more and register today via our website: wildsight.ca/branches/golden/programs/getwild-2/

Got questions? Robyn can be reached at getwildcamp@wildsight.ca.

Wildsight Golden would like to thank the Columbia Valley Credit Union and the Government of BC for their support in helping us send kids to camp. If you would like to find out more about sponsorship options, please get in touch with our branch manager at golden@wildsight.ca.

Take a look back at these archival pages from the Golden Star and Golden News about the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge.

Built in 2001 by volunteer timber framers and locals, this iconic bridge is Canada’s longest freestanding timber-frame structure and a true symbol of community connection.

Now, 25 years later, it’s time to celebrate!

Join us at Spirit Square tomorrow evening (Saturday, Sept 26) to celebrate the 25th anniversary. See you there, Golden!
