The Golden Fire Rescue Service is seeking dedicated and community-oriented individuals to join its team of paid-on-call firefighters.
On April 22nd at 7:00 pm, the department will host an informational session at the Golden Fire Rescue station, providing a unique opportunity to tour the station, meet current members, and learn more about how you can serve your community. The event is open to anyone wishing to learn more about their fire rescue service, and friends and family are encouraged to join in the tour.
During the info session, the Fire Chiefs and Training Coordinators will share the latest updates about the department and explain the two distinct recruitment streams designed to accommodate people with varying levels of time commitment.
“We’re looking for people with the heart and courage to rise to the occasion when their community needs them most,” said Fire Chief Mike Pecora.
“Being a firefighter is more than just fighting fires—it’s about having the strength to respond to all kinds of emergency situations, the dedication to train and be ready, and the commitment to serve your neighbours in their most vulnerable moments. If you possess those qualities and have the drive to make a real impact, we want you to join our team.”
Last year, the Golden Fire Rescue Service responded to over 330 emergencies, including structure fires, gas leaks, medicals, motor vehicle accidents and the Dogtooth Wildfire.
