The Golden Dolphins make a splash at Regional Championships in Kamloops.

The Golden Dolphins swim team capped off their summer season with a series of amazing performances at the Regional Championships held this past weekend in Kamloops.

A total of 40 athletes represented the club, many of whom ended their season on a high note with personal bests and impressive swims!

Eight swimmers achieved 100 percent best times across all their events: Ruby Burford, Hannah Fehr, Darci Fufaro, Liam McRoberts, Tyla McRoberts, Lily Neilson, Anna Quanstrom, and Maddison Vanderhart. Congratulations to those swimmers for their hard work!

A standout moment of the weekend came from Malcolm Labonville, who set a new club record in the Division 6 Boysโ€™ 100-metre butterfly with a time of 1:02.22. Labonville had trained hard all season with the goal of breaking the record, which had stood since 2014.

On the womenโ€™s side, Roxy Coatesworth made a major splash in Division 7, rewriting the record board in three events: the 50-metre freestyle (28.18), 100-metre freestyle (1:03.08), and 100-metre breaststroke (1:17.39). Her performance in the 100 breaststroke not only set a new club mark but also broke the regional record.
