Columbia Basin Trust has released their 2024 / 2025 Annual Report.

Columbia Basin Trust has released their 2024 / 2025 Annual Report.

Columbia Basin Trust has released its Annual Service Plan Report. In 2024/25, the Trust generated $101 million in revenues from its investments in hydropower, commercial real estate and other holdings, enabling the Trust to deliver $76.1 million in direct benefits to Basin residents through more than 2,670 projects across 56 active programs.

This included:

โ€ข $58.1 million in grants and initiatives

โ€ข $7.1 million in commercial real estate investments

โ€ข $6.5 million in new business loans

โ€ข $4.4 million in capital investments.

The Trustโ€™s revenues come primarily from four hydropower facilities co-owned with Columbia Power Corporation. In 2024/25, strong performance at the Brilliant and Waneta facilities helped offset reduced revenues from Arrow Lakes Generating Station, which was offline for turbine repairs. Insurance recoveries helped mitigate the impact, and the facility is now back in service.

โ€œAs we mark the Trustโ€™s 30th anniversary, Iโ€™m proud of what we accomplished in 2024/25,โ€ said Johnny Strilaeff, President and CEO of Columbia Basin Trust. โ€œEven as we navigated challenges with Arrow Lakes Generating Station, we were able to deliver $76.1 million in direct benefits to Basin residents through 2,670 projectsโ€”thanks to the efforts of communities, First Nations, non-profits and businesses across the region. This strong financial performance ensures we can keep investing in a vibrant, resilient Columbia Basin for years to come.โ€

Residents are invited to learn more about the past yearโ€™s outcomes and connect with members of the Trust Board at the Annual General Meeting, taking place at 1:00 pm MT on Thursday, September 11, in Radium Hot Springs. People can attend online via Zoom or in person at the Radium Hot Springs Centre, 4863 Stanley Street.

A free community BBQ will follow the AGM from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm MT at the Radium Hot Springs Centre. For more information about the AGM and BBQ, visit ourtrust.org/agm.

The 2024/25 Annual Service Plan Report is available at ourtrust.org/annualreport.

Columbia Basin Trust supports the efforts of the people in the Columbia Basin to strengthen social, economic and environmental well-being. To learn more about the Trustโ€™s programs and initiatives, visit ourtrust.org or call 1.800.505.8998.
