Golden-Field RCMP Respond to 167 Calls in January

Golden, BC – The Golden-Field RCMP remained active in the community throughout January 2025, responding to a total of 167 calls for service in Golden and the surrounding areas.

Among the incidents recorded were eight abandoned 911 calls, highlighting ongoing concerns about accidental or misuse of emergency services. Officers also conducted 15 well-being checks to ensure the safety of residents.

Law enforcement responded to four reported assaults, including two cases of sexual assault.

Traffic-related incidents accounted for a significant portion of the calls, with 15 motor vehicle incidents (MVIs) reported and 27 traffic complaints lodged. Officers issued three violation tickets over the month. Road safety remains a priority, particularly in winter conditions, and drivers are urged to exercise caution.

Additionally, police responded to eight hazardous situations and assisted in five missing person cases. These types of calls often require extensive coordination and resources to ensure the safety of those involved.

It is important to note that these numbers do not include statistics from the BC Highway Patrol Unit, which also operates out of the Golden detachment.

The Golden-Field RCMP reminds the public to use 911 appropriately, report suspicious or dangerous activity, and remain vigilant on the roads during winter months.
