Golden Food Bank

The Golden Food Bank Society (GFB) is thrilled to announce its Spring 2025 fundraising initiative, the Summit of Support: GFB 50/50 Raffle. This crucial fundraiser aims to address the surge in demand for the Food Bank program in recent years.

The need for the Golden Food Bankโ€™s services has reached critical levels. In 2021, the program supported 224 local households with 1,300 hampers. By 2024, this number had dramatically increased to 516 households receiving over 3,000 hampers.ย

Last year alone, over 650 individuals โ€“ seniors, adults, and children โ€“ relied on the Food Bank, representing a staggering 16.5% of the Town of Goldenโ€™s population.

Proceeds from the Summit of Support 50/50 Raffle will directly support the Emergency Food Bank program, enabling the purchase of nourishing food for individuals and families facing food insecurity in Golden and the surrounding Area A.

Food insecurity arises when circumstances beyond an individualโ€™s control hinder their access to sufficient and nutritious food for well-being.

Raffle tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 12:01 AM and will close on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:59 PM. The draw will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Golden Food Bank Society located at 1407 9th St South, Golden, BC. Tickets are priced at 3 for $5, 5 for $10, and 15 for $20.

The lucky winner will receive a cash prize equal to 50% of the total ticket sales. To participate, individuals must be 19 years of age or older and residents of Golden and Area A, the Columbia-Shuswap Valley, or Southern Alberta, with proof of residency required.

Paid staff, board members, and volunteers of the Golden Food Bank Society and their immediate family are not eligible to purchase tickets. The draw will be conducted using a certified Rafflebox Random Number Generator (RNG).

The Golden Food Bank Society urges the community to participate in the Summit of Support 50/50 Raffle and help us continue to provide vital support to our neighbours facing food insecurity.
