Golden Rockets

The Golden Rockets will display their 2023 / 2024 Community jersey for November. A business or community member sponsored each jersey. At the end of the month, they are open to the public to purchase and, in some cases, will be auctioned off. All the funds from the sale and auction of the jerseys go into the Rockets community fund. We can then use these funds to assist our community members with medical challenges that take the person out of town and help them with out-of-pocket expenses not covered by insurance (such as fuel, hotel, and meals).

After learning of our plan to raise awareness for Indigenous communities and the effect that residential schools had on them, one of our players approached us asking if he could have his Indigenous name on the back of his jersey. After the other three players learned this was possible, they quickly jumped on board.

Take a look back at these archival pages from the Golden Star and Golden News about the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge.

Built in 2001 by volunteer timber framers and locals, this iconic bridge is Canada’s longest freestanding timber-frame structure and a true symbol of community connection.

Now, 25 years later, it’s time to celebrate!

Join us at Spirit Square tomorrow evening (Saturday, Sept 26) to celebrate the 25th anniversary. See you there, Golden!
