Ridge North America is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Glacier Raft Company, Golden’s original whitewater rafting outfitter and a beloved part of the Kicking Horse River experience since 1982.
This transition marks a new chapter for Glacier Raft Company, as owners Ryan and Carmen pass the paddle to Ridge North America with a shared commitment to preserving the spirit, culture, and adventure that has made Glacier Raft Company a cornerstone of outdoor life in Golden.
For over a decade, Ryan and Carmen have poured their hearts into Glacier Raft Company, nurturing it from a bold leap of faith into one of BC’s most respected rafting companies.
Under their leadership, Glacier Raft Company grew through the acquisition of Alpine Rafting and Wet N Wild Adventures, introduced heli-rafting, and continued to operate Whitewater Lodge—transforming the business while staying true to its roots: connection to nature, a love of adventure, and genuine hospitality.
“We’ve dedicated so much of ourselves to Glacier Raft Company, shaping it into something we’re proud of – and we’ve always hoped it would continue to evolve and thrive even after we’ve stepped back,” said Carmen and Ryan.
“This decision wasn’t made lightly, but we deeply believe Ridge North America is the right fit. Paul understands our community, the river, and what Glacier Raft Company means to people, because he’s one of us. We’re excited to see where he takes it.”
Ridge North America is no stranger to the region or its values. The company’s CEO and Founder, Paul Deutsch, was raised in Golden and understands firsthand the magic that happens when people experience the outdoors in this place.
