RANDHAWA, Dara Ram – April 1st, 1913 – June 20th, 2016
Dara Ram passed away a few days after being hospitalized from suffering a brain hemorrhage.
He leaves behind his wife, Bishan Kaur Randhawa and his children Harmesh, Geeta, Santosh, Gurmeet Kaur, Debo and their families.
Dara was born in Mahal, India. He worked in the fields with his brothers, day in and day out and helped his father, Ram Rakha. After many years in India, Dara Ram decided it was time for a change, and with the sponsorship from his daughter, Santosh and son-in-law Dev Mall, he immigrated to Canada in 1986.
Once he had settled down in Canada, he started working at a farm in Chilliwack, BC. After 13 years of hard labour on the farm, Dara Ram retired in 1999 and permanently lived with his son, Harmesh. Dara Ram loved making those around him smile and laugh by sharing his past memories of his life and giving helpful advice.
He was a man who loved to spend time with his grandchildren and ensure their happiness was always present. Although no one will be able to take his place, his great memory will always be with his friends and family. He leaves behind a loving wife, four daughters, one son, 21 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Dara Ram’s soul now rests in heaven with his loving son, Dev Kumar Randhawa.
