With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jonathan R Jensen, on December 18, 2024 at the age of 45. Jon spent his last days before leaving this world surrounded by his loving family.
Jon was born on October 18, 1979 in Golden, BC to Franklin Jensen Sr. and Linda Jensen.
He attended Golden Secondary School where he excelled in many sports. He spent the majority of his teenage/young adult years training and participating in triathlons, rock climbing, snowboarding and perfecting his back flip.
Jon worked in construction for many years and has had a considerable impact helping to build the community Golden is today. He was a devoted family man, loyal friend, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Jon loved to travel, read, game and was also an excellent home chef.
Jon will be deeply loved and missed forever by his spouse Melinda Tait, his daughter Nevada Jensen, father Franklin Jensen Sr., brother; Frank Jensen Jr., sisters; Deanna Jensen and Ellen Jensen. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Linda Jensen, and niece Kaydee Jensen.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta for their care and support.
A celebration of Jon’s life will be held in the afternoon of April 20, 2025 in Golden, BC. Further details of the celebration will be announced at a later date.
The family asks that you share a short, personal story about Jon in writing to add to a family collection. These can be prepared in advance or in person at the celebration of his life event.
