Karen Knapp, 74 years old, of Golden, BC, passed away on May 13, 2026, at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC.
Karen was born on January 10, 1952, to John and Thelma Isley in Port Coquitlam, BC. She was the baby of the family, with older sister Signe and older brother Bob to watch her grow.
Karen grew up on a blueberry farm on Prairie Road, one door down from her future husband, “Little Bobby.” The two went to school together as friends and became inseparable from grad onward. They were married on December 4, 1971. Karen went on to complete her nursing training at Royal Columbia Hospital and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1973. She worked in various hospitals and units and was exceptional at her job. Known for her kindness and compassion, Karen touched the lives of many throughout her nursing career.
Karen and Bob had three children: Christopher, Julie and Cory. Karen loved being a mother. She was always baking, making crafts, playing games and enjoying the outdoors with her children. She created a beautiful garden and home in Mission, BC. A loyal friend, she was always ready to offer support, prepare a meal, or pray with those in need. Karen was a devoted Christian with unwavering faith and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
In 2017, Bob and Karen moved to Golden, BC, to be closer to their children and spend time with their grandchildren. Karen cherished watching them hop off the school bus in front of their home and run inside for big hugs.
Bob and Karen loved road trips together, driving across Canada and through many US States. They particularly loved Kauai and always hoped to return one day. After 54 years of marriage, they remained the best of friends.
Karen is predeceased by her parents, John and Thelma Isley, and her son Christopher. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Julie (Matt), son Cory, grandchildren Brooklyn, Jake, Tovah, and Sawyer, sister Signe (Les), brother Bob (Evelyn), and many cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
Karen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith in God lives on in our hearts.
