Rodney Keith Hans CUTLER

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Keith Hans Cutler, May 7, 2024, at the Golden & District General Hospital after a sudden decline in his health.

Rodney was born on January 12, 1968, in Golden, BC. He was the youngest son of Lyle Cutler of Golden, BC, and Wendy Cutler of Cranbrook, BC. Rodney is survived by his parents, his brothers Randy Cutler and Richard Cutler (Deanna), numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Carl Olson and Iola Hollingsworth, and Otto and Edith Pedersen.

During his younger years, Rodney could often be found biking all around Golden collecting bottles. He was an active member of the Golden Bowling League for several years. After he finished his bowling career, he remained a fixture of the bowling community, cheering on his dad and old teammates. Rodney had a love for the local Rockets hockey team, attending as many games as he possibly could for many years.

He enjoyed watching the Rockets so much so that, after a bit of confusion, he rode his bike, all the way to Revelstoke on a cold winter’s day, to watch them play! Later in life, he would often attend his great nieces’ and nephews’ hockey games.

Rodney also enjoyed bird watching at the river, visiting casinos, and taking trips to visit his brother Randy in Banff and to the Radium Hot Springs pools. He thoroughly relished playing ping pong and pool, having dinner at Legendz Diner, eating mounds of mashed potatoes at the family gatherings, and drinking endless coffees. Over the years, Rodney and his dad purchased countless scratch and win tickets, being lucky enough to win on occasion!

Rodney made many friends during his lifetime in Golden and will be deeply missed by all of us. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Golden & District General Hospital for all the support and compassion during Rodney’s times of need. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.bowersfuneralservice.com.
