Thanks to a recent upgrade to our air conditioner, the library is COOL in more ways than one! It’s a great place to hang out all summer!
Speaking of summer, it’s time to register your child for the Summer Reading Club, the free literacy program we offer for children in Grades K to 7 over the school break! We will have a weekly session on Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and take-home challenges (including a reading record!)
Once registered, children can attend one session or all of them. If you will be away all summer, your kiddo doesn’t have to miss out on the fun, they can still complete a challenge tracker and reading record for a chance to win some great prizes.

For adults (and teens) this summer, we’re excited to offer a free drop-in art program called “Let’s Draw!” Each week we will having fun and engaging drawing activities! We will go over basic techniques, share some tips and tricks, give book recommendations and more! All skill levels welcome and materials will be provided. This program starts on July 13th and will run on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
The Golden public library is located at 819 Park Dr., between the Golden Town Hall and the medical clinic.
