Join us for “Let’s Draw!” tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Let’s Draw! is our fun, free drop-in drawing program that happens monthly for adults and teens.

All skill levels are welcome, and materials are provided.

The library is open this Saturday so join us at 11 a.m. for a Thanksgiving themed Story Time and LEGO Club Drop-In from 1 to 3 p.m.

Next week, Thursday, Oct. 12, we have Jim Hoover here at 7 p.m. with his presentation, “How to Get Hired and How to Get Fired.”

For anyone new to or struggling in the workforce, this presentation features time-tested tips and stories.

“My main goal in this talk” writes Jim, “is that just one person hears something that keeps them out of trouble in the workplace.”

And finally, mark your calendars for our Mad Science Halloween event on Friday, Oct. 27, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

We will have creepy fun for the whole family.

And yes, we are still looking for volunteers, so if you’d like to help out please get in touch!

For more information on these programs, or if you have an idea for a program yourself, please contact me at llarose@orl.bc.ca or call us at 250-344-6516.

The Golden public library is located at 819 Park Dr., between the Golden Town Hall and the medical clinic.

Laura Larose is the Golden branch community librarian of the Golden public library, located at 819 Park Dr.

  • Flashback Friday 📰 Fall 2001!

Take a look back at these archival pages from the Golden Star and Golden News about the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge.

Built in 2001 by volunteer timber framers and locals, this iconic bridge is Canada’s longest freestanding timber-frame structure and a true symbol of community connection.

Now, 25 years later, it’s time to celebrate!

Join us at Spirit Square tomorrow evening (Saturday, Sept 26) to celebrate the 25th anniversary. See you there, Golden!
