If you are new to or struggling in the work force, don’t miss “How to Get Hired and How to Get Fired!” scheduled for Oct. 12, 7 p.m.
And next Thursday, Oct.19, at 6:30 p.m., we welcome author Debbie Ehrstien who will be here sharing her powerful book The Dissociate: A Memoir of Secrets and Survival of Childhood Sexual Abuse.
“As a little girl I was threatened to keep the sexual abuse a secret,” Ehrstein said.
“I was very skilled at staying silent. I am no longer that little girl and no longer silent.
“Speaking the truth about my story has helped set me free.
“As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, my life came to a screeching halt as I began regaining suppressed memories of the trauma at the age of 47.
“Through this journey of healing I found therapy in writing. So, I began writing my book on childhood sexual abuse.
“My book will help you and other survivors currently struggling with this very difficult fight for life.
“Prevention starts by talking to others about this issue and the necessity to keep our children safe by protecting them.
“I want to raise awareness and help shine the light on this very dark topic. I am speaking about childhood sexual abuse all over North America.”
