Kicking Horse Mountain Resort will be hosting the Canada Cup downhill mountain biking race on August 12 and 13.
While some of Canada’s most elite bikers ride down the mountain at breathtaking speeds, the resort is looking for volunteers to work as course marshalls and first aid staff to guide them and ensure their safety.
The resort has issued a call for volunteers to work as first aid staff and course marshalls on both days of the event and for cleanup assistance on August 14.
Volunteers will be given a free summer day pass to the resort on each day they volunteer. Those who volunteer for two or more days will have the choice of substituting their summer passes for a winter day pass or a ticket to the mountain’s via ferrata tour.
Lift access and bagged lunches will be available every day for volunteers.
To register as a volunteer, community members are encouraged to email Matt Clifford at mclifford@kickinghorseresort.com. The email should specify which days the prospective volunteer is available and, based on the number of days they volunteer, what compensation package they are looking for.
