Fall Faire 2026: Golden Museum gearing up

Golden Museum by Golden Museum

Fall Faire 2026 – The Golden Museum is delighted to announce the return of one of our community’s most cherished traditions: the annual Fall Faire, held this year on Saturday, September 12th, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on the Museum grounds.

The Fall Faire has been part of Golden’s story for so many years that we’ve long since lost track of exactly when it began. What we do know is that it has become a beloved September ritual—an event that arrives just after Labor Day Weekend, when the summer rush quiets, the kids are back in school, and our small mountain town can finally exhale. It’s the moment when locals gather again, reconnecting after months of welcoming visitors from around the world.

This year’s Faire promises all the familiar favourites that generations of Golden residents have come to love. Expect face painting, old‑fashioned games for kids, the Rotary BBQ, and a lively Farmers Market filled with local growers, makers, and artisans. Music will fill the grounds all day long, with performances by The Jumping Rodents, Nathan Turner and the Echo Rangers, Jubilee Mountain, Whiskey Jack, Sebastien Fouron, Mellie Jane, Maya Balon, and of course, Golden’s own music master John Jenkins.

For those entering items into the Fall Faire competitions, please remember that all entries must be delivered between 9:00 and 10:00 am. The competition building closes promptly at 10:00 am so judges can review submissions and select winners before the doors open to the public at 11:00 am.

Whether you come for the music, the market, the competitions, or simply to visit with neighbours you haven’t seen all summer, the Fall Faire offers something for everyone. It’s a day to slow down, share stories, make new friends, and celebrate the community spirit that makes Golden such a special place to call home.

  • Flashback Friday 📰 Fall 2001!

Take a look back at these archival pages from the Golden Star and Golden News about the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge.

Built in 2001 by volunteer timber framers and locals, this iconic bridge is Canada’s longest freestanding timber-frame structure and a true symbol of community connection.

Now, 25 years later, it’s time to celebrate!

Join us at Spirit Square tomorrow evening (Saturday, Sept 26) to celebrate the 25th anniversary. See you there, Golden!
  • A pretty great way to celebrate 25 years! 🎬🍿

The Princess Bride, popcorn, hot chocolate and a beautiful evening spent outside together.

Thanks to the Golden & District Community for hosting such a fun night!

  • 30 logging trucks, all coming together for a special tribute🌲

It’s not something you often see making its way through town — the trucks normally hard at work in the bush. But when the industry loses one of its own, the community makes the time.

A quiet but powerful display of just how significant the forestry industry is, and the kind of community we have here.
