The Golden Food Bank is giving locals a chance to stock up for their next backyard barbecue or receive fresh eggs for an entire year, all while supporting the food bank through its Grill for Good raffle.

The fundraiser has already brought in $645, according to Golden Food Bank executive director Monica De, with the raffle prizes generously donated by Parkyโ€™s Heating and Cooling and Golden Acres Farm.

The fundraiser offers two locally focused prizes, with every donation helping support the Golden Food Bank Societyโ€™s programs.

For every $2 donated, participants receive one entry into the raffle. The first prize is a Backyard BBQ Bundle valued at $350, featuring a selection of equipment and accessories for the next summer cookout.

The bundle includes a mobile BBQ prep tub, Broil King Deluxe Cutting Board, heat-resistant silicone shelf mat, Stack-A-Rack, burger press and corkscrew.

It also includes a Green Mountain Grills Thin Blue Smoker, two GrillPro cedar grilling planks and four one-pound packages of assorted pork sausages from Golden Acres Farm. The BBQ grill itself is not included.

The second prize offers something a little different: a full year of weekly egg delivery from Golden Acres Farm, valued at $416.

De said the raffle is an opportunity for people to support the food bank while having the chance to take home one of the two prizes.

โ€œEvery entry helps support the Golden Food Bank Societyโ€™s programs, ensuring individuals and families in our community have access to nutritious food when they need it most,โ€ said De.

The fundraiser comes as the Golden Food Bank continues to rely on community support to provide food and services to local individuals and families.

The raffle draw will take place on Monday, Sept. 7, Labour Day.

Those interested in entering can donate through the Golden Food Bankโ€™s virtual food drive. Each $2 donated counts as one raffle entry.
