Are you looking for Golden, BC, bakery options? Perhaps you’re in the market for some fresh-baked bread or pastries? Whether you live in Golden full-time or just visit, I’ve covered you for freshly baked everything in Golden, BC. There are two main bakeries here. First, Golden Bakery & Deli has been family-owned and operated for over 50 years. And then there’s Daley Bread Bakery, offering a wide variety of artisan bread and pastries from scratch.
In this article, we’ll examine the two main bakeries in Golden and point out a couple of other local places where you can find fresh-baked bread and pastries.
1. Golden BC Bakery: Golden Bakery & Deli
The Golden Bakery & Deli has been serving the community of Golden, BC since 1970, owned and operated by The Dusevic Family. They are located downtown at 415 9th Ave. N.
They offer freshly baked bread, pastries, daily sandwiches, soup, and chilli. You can even get a full breakfast here or a breakfast Sammy to go!
I especially love that they’re open super early in the morning. When I’m heading out early in the morning, I can stop by and grab a latte. (Did I mention they serve Kicking Horse Coffee?)
It’s one of the only places in Golden, BC, to get an espresso before 7 AM.

2. Golden BC Bakery: Daley Bread Bakery
Laura Daley opened her bakery a few years ago, and brought her love of baking from scratch to Golden, BC. Located at Unit C – 1007 11th Ave. S. (near Jita’s Cafe), it’s easy to get there and there’s tons of great parking.
The hours are generally Wednesday through Sunday, but check her Instagram for specific opening hours. Fresh-baked pastries on a Sunday morning is not something we’re used to in such a small town.
I never knew the joy of biting into an Almond Croissant, but now I’m hooked! It’s my absolute favourite. Did I mention she also makes cheesecake bowls, sourdough bread, bagels, scones, and so much more?

3. Special Mention: Ethos Cafe
Ethos Cafe is primarily a coffee shop and cafe, but they also make their own sourdough bread. And let me tell you, it’s amazing.
They offer an incredible menu, with many items featuring sourdough bread. I highly recommend the Mushroom on Toast and the Reuben.
Besides their own bread, Ethos Cafe also offers fresh pastries from Pauline’s Macaroons. Macarons, tarts, and cakes are just a few of the things Pauline bakes from scratch.
Ethos is located at 612 7th Street N. between the OSO buildings.
Local’s tip: The Mushroom on Toast features locally grown mushrooms by Golden’s very own Mushroom Will. Ethos Cafe is one of the only Golden, BC, places that use these local ingredients.

4. Other Option: Save On Foods
Save On Foods (previously Overwaitea) is one of Golden BC’s main grocery stores. It has an in-store bakery and offers a wide selection of bread and pastries baked on-site.
Located at 1020 10th Ave. S. (south end of Golden) with lots of parking. Open 7 days a week.
5. Other Option: Golden, BC Bakery: IGA
IGA (previously Sobey’s) is a main grocery store in Golden, BC, offering freshly baked bread and treats.
Located in the north end of Golden, at 624-9 Avenue N, Golden BC has tons of convenient parking and is open seven days a week.
Wrap Up:
Golden, BC, has some great options for bakeries offering fresh baked bread and pastries.
Try Golden Bakery & Deli or Daley Bread Bakery first for bread, buns, baguettes, and pastries of all kinds.
Ethos Cafe bakes its own sourdough bread daily in-house, so I recommend getting there early before it sells out.
Sometimes, you need fresh bread after hours, so try Save-On Foods or IGA. These grocery stores are generally open until later in the evening.
