Back in April, the Amazing Race Canada rolled into Golden, BC, putting Season 11 competitors to the test in our own backyard.ย
All of the contestants are Canadian, representing regions across the country โ from Charlottetown, PEI, to Calgary, Alberta, which is home to the team closest to Golden.

After departing Lake Louise, the ten remaining teams made their way to Golden, kicking off their challenges in the treed area behind the Selkirk Hill neighbourhood.
From there, teams headed up to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, where they faced a choice: craft makeshift snowshoes and trek through the snow, or load a sled and haul it uphill โ both tests of strength and strategy in the mountain elements.ย
The leg wrapped up with a dash to the Golden Skybridge, where they were greeted by host Jon Montgomery at the scenic pit stop.

Locals may have spotted a few familiar sights throughout the episode, including sweeping shots of the Kicking Horse Canyon and the road winding up to the resort.
The episode, titled โIโd Hug You But I Smell,โ aired Tuesday, July 15, on CTV. Missed it? Catch the full episode now on the CTV website.
