best pizza in Golden, BC

Do you feel like heading out for a pizza in Golden, BC? As a local, I can personally recommend some great options.

Golden, BC, is home to some seriously delicious pizza joints worth a slice (or two). This small town has a surprisingly robust pizza scene that will satisfy even the pickiest palates, from classic thin-crust pies to gourmet creations topped with local ingredients.

Grab a napkin and get ready to drool as we uncover the best places in Golden, BC, to indulge in everyone’s favourite cheesy delight.

Red Tomato Pies

Red Tomato Pies is conveniently located in downtown Golden, BC. It is open from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM every day.

They have four categories of pizzas – meat, chicken, Hawaiian & seafood and veggie. You can expect both traditional flavours and some unusual ones that you might like to try.

I’ve tried some unique ones since I have always liked to venture into the unknown. The LumberJack has ham, mozza, Italian sausage and smoked bacon in the meat category. And it comes with a side of maple syrup.

You haven’t lived if youโ€™ve never dipped your pizza in maple syrup. And besides, when in Canada โ€ฆ

The Cubano features mustard aioli sauce, salami, ham, pulled pork, mozzarella, and pickles. Itโ€™s an exciting combination; the pickles are the perfect finishing touch.

Not to be outdone, the chicken category has some champions like the BBQ Chicken and the Chicken Pesto.

There are at least eight different versions of Hawaiian. There are lots of exciting twists on the famous ham and pineapple favourite. Because pineapple belongs on pizza, it’s funny how that combination of ingredients is so polarizing for people.

Something about the pineapple’s sweetness and the cheese’s saltiness gets me every time.

I was surprised to see a Samosa pizza in the veggie category. Itโ€™s baked with potatoes, baby peas, onions, mozzarella, and red peppers, and it’s drizzled with pineapple curry sauce.

Iโ€™m looking forward to trying this one. I mean, who can resist pineapple curry sauce?

You can also order online for takeout (pickup) and delivery.

Location: 519A 9th Ave. N. (downtown) | (250) 344-4444

Do they offer pizza delivery in Golden, BC? Yes.

The Turning Point Restaurant

Turning Point Restaurant is a well-established, iconic restaurant in Golden, BC. Itโ€™s still owned and operated by the Tsadilas Family, which started in 1988. To say theyโ€™re a localโ€™s favourite would be a vast understatement.

In fact, to folks around here, you havenโ€™t lived until youโ€™ve had the Turning Point Lasagna. But thatโ€™s a story for another day because this is about their pizza.

All the pizzas feature their house-made Italian tomato sauce with a traditional hand-pressed pan crust. Letโ€™s get that out of the way.

You can expect excellent pizza here, including BBQ Chicken, Sicilian, and Mediterranean. Youโ€™ll also find some exciting flavour options.

For example, the Elk Meatball is not your everyday pizza option. It features a house-made elk meatball crumble, sautรฉed mushrooms, caramelized onions, banana peppers, bacon, white cheddar and mozzarella, and a chipotle aioli drizzle.

And then thereโ€™s the Pointer House. It offers salami, pepperoni, ham, green peppers, mushrooms, pineapple, shrimp, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese.

You can also build your pizza if you prefer a custom set of ingredients. Some vegan choices are also made with Beyond Meat products and vegan cheese.

A gluten-free crust and a cauliflower crust option are also available. The latter might sound unusual, but itโ€™s really tasty.

Pizza is available for takeout and sometimes for delivery. Youโ€™ll want to double-check if itโ€™s available on the particular day you order.

Online ordering is available here as well. Itโ€™s very convenient.

If youโ€™re in the market for dessert, try their homemade cheesecake. Itโ€™s an old family recipe thatโ€™s been handed down for generations. I promise you wonโ€™t be disappointed!

Location: 906 11th Ave. S. | (250) 344-2566

Do they offer pizza delivery in Golden, BC? Yes.

Al Fornoโ€™s Restaurant and Pizzeria

Al Fornoโ€™s is a hotel restaurant, and its pizza is fantastic. It is baked fresh to order every time and is easily some of the best pizza in Golden, BC.

There are 30+ pizza flavours to choose from. I always find pizzas I want to try when I read through the menu.

The Canadian Montagna looks interesting. Itโ€™s got smoked ham, pepperoni, bacon, mushroom, black olives, cheddar and mozzarella blend cheese. I want to add pineapple, but thatโ€™s just me.

Then thereโ€™s the Mighty Texan, the New Yorker and the Tuscan Chicken.

At Al Fornoโ€™s, you can dine in, order takeout (pickup), or ask for delivery. Itโ€™s conveniently located at the Days Inn (formerly The Golden Rim) and is open seven days a week.

Riverhouse Tavern (temporarily closed, due to fire)

The Riverhouse Tavern is a local favourite in Spirit Square, usually called “the Riv.” Known for its casual atmosphere, it’s an excellent spot for catching up with friends over its daily drink and food features.

In addition to their daily features, they also feature a variety of pizzas on their regular menu, which are made using a traditional wood-burning pizza oven. Whether you’re looking for a meat-lovers option like “Meat Jesus” or vegetarian options like “Margherita” and “Funghi,” they even have a “Donair Pizza,” which is a local favourite at the Riv!

Summer is a great time to visit, with their patio towards the Spirit Square, Timberframe Bridge and Kicking Horse River.
