Golden BC Coffee Shops

The Bluebird Cafe in Golden, BC.

Are you looking for one of Golden, BC’s coffee shops? Start your day off right with a hot espresso or a latte to go.

If thereโ€™s one thing I know about living here in Golden, we love our coffee shops. Most are independently owned and operated, so thereโ€™s a unique twist on each cafe.

With so many options, you can sit down and stay awhile or take your coffee to go. Most places also offer breakfast-to-go options.

My family and I often venture out to a local coffee shop on a weekend morning. So youโ€™re getting all the localsโ€™ tips here!

We may not have a Starbucks, but we have many local coffee shops to choose from!

Independently owned Golden BC coffee shops

Bacchus Cafeย (new location)

With coffee beans from the Banff Roasting Company, their coffee beverages are second to none. Golden, BC, also has excellent food options and baked goods to accompany your coffee.

With a recent change in management, backcountry chef Katie Mitzel, author of the Rocky Mountain Cooking cookbook (which you can buy at the bookstore), is the new culinary expert at the cafe.

The cafe is also surrounded by the bookstore’s used books, making it the perfect spot to enjoy coffee and read.

Bluebird Cafe

A local favourite, the Bluebird Cafe, is also en route to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (going up the 9th Street way). They use Cafe Monte beans, which are roasted in nearby Calgary, AB.

Cafe owner Nicola Hollick was inspired by bluebird days in our mountain community and her experience in the hospitality industry.

Bluebirdโ€™s menu has lots of espresso beverages to choose from, as well as breakfast and lunch staples.

They also have on-the-go options, like a bag lunch and snacks, perfect for picking up on your way to your next adventure! If you are a larger group, they also have catering options.

Ethos Cafe

Ethos Cafe is one of Golden’s newest coffee shops. Itโ€™s right in the middle of the new OSO buildings on your way to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. It’s a hit with locals and tourists and features coffee beans from Rooftop Coffee Roasters in Fernie.

They also feature a small menu with highlights like the Breaky Roll, Avocado Toast, and there’s always a grilled cheese sandwich of some kind.

Iโ€™ve also loved checking out the new menu while enjoying coffee. It changes every six months, so check in the spring and fall to see whatโ€™s new.

You’ll want to visit this spot during slow times. It’s been a big hit and tends to be very busy.

They make their sourdough for the cafe, and you can buy a loaf to take home. It makes fantastic garlic bread!

In addition to serving Kicking Horse Coffee, roasted just down the valley in Invermere, they make all their bread and doughnuts from scratch daily!

Their new back patio, open on the Riverwalk, is a great spot to sit and relax with a good cup of coffee (and a donut). They also offer online ordering for pickup!

Jita’s Cafe is a cozy local cafe that offers a selection of treats to go with their coffees.ย They make the best pumpkin muffins and scones I’ve ever had. I don’t know what it is about them; maybe it’s because they’re so moist!

Serving delicious, fresh-baked goods daily (the most amazing muffins made from scratch!), breakfast to-go, daily soup, and curries and wraps for lunch.
