Golden Skybridge

Golden Skybridge is inviting residents of Golden, Area A, and Field to experience its attractions during Locals Days on Saturday, April 26 & Sunday, April 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days.

This special event offers locals the chance to explore Canada’s highest suspension bridges and enjoy a variety of activities at discounted rates.

By purchasing a Season Pass for $50 and making a suggested $20 donation to the Golden Cycling Club’s adaptive trail projects, residents gain access to a weekend of adventure.

The Season Pass provides unlimited bridge access throughout the season, discounts on food, drinks, and retail items, as well as special weekday rates on Adventure Pass add-ons.

Additionally, pass holders receive free entry to the Summer Concert Series starting June 21.

Golden Skybridge Attractions to Experience

Railrider Mountain Coaster: Inspired by the railway history of Golden, the Railrider’s tracks guide passengers along a kilometre of alpine scenery. After ascending the mountainside, the thrill begins — riders pick up speed through the forest and along the canyon edge as the coaster curves and turns towards the bottom of the hill over a total vertical descent of 73 metres (240 ft).

Giant Canyon Swing: Sway through the sky with this heart-pumping thrill ride. The Giant Canyon Swing sends brave adventurers free-falling over the canyon’s edge, secured safely by a bungee cord. When the bungee kicks in, you’ll begin to soar smoothly, swinging side-to-side above the rugged terrain below.

Sky Zipline: Adventure-seekers won’t want to miss the 1,000-foot zipline that provides a thrilling ride across the canyon. From 500 feet in the air, you’ll be treated to an incredible bird’s-eye view of the thundering waterfall and rushing river below.

Canyon Edge Challenge Course: Put your strength and stamina to the test with our fun-for-all-ages ropes course. The course features three different courses with varying degrees of difficulty — including an option for kids — so you can climb, balance, sway and swing while suspended up to 40 feet in the air.

Climbing Wall: Navigate your way up our 28-foot rock climbing wall, complete with easy, moderate and challenging routes.

Axe Throwing: Summon your inner lumberjack (no plaid required) as you hurl hatchets down our target range.

Village Grill: Choose from two food trucks on your adventure fuel break. Enjoy delicious burgers, hot dogs, fries, poutine, and grilled cheese at The Treehouse or waffles and ice cream at The Canopy. There’s sure to be something tasty for everyone!

Proof of residency is required to attend. For more information and to purchase a Season Pass, visit the Golden Skybridge Locals Days page.

  • Flashback Friday 📰 Fall 2001!

Take a look back at these archival pages from the Golden Star and Golden News about the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge.

Built in 2001 by volunteer timber framers and locals, this iconic bridge is Canada’s longest freestanding timber-frame structure and a true symbol of community connection.

Now, 25 years later, it’s time to celebrate!

Join us at Spirit Square tomorrow evening (Saturday, Sept 26) to celebrate the 25th anniversary. See you there, Golden!
  • A pretty great way to celebrate 25 years! 🎬🍿

The Princess Bride, popcorn, hot chocolate and a beautiful evening spent outside together.

Thanks to the Golden & District Community for hosting such a fun night!

  • 30 logging trucks, all coming together for a special tribute🌲

It’s not something you often see making its way through town — the trucks normally hard at work in the bush. But when the industry loses one of its own, the community makes the time.

A quiet but powerful display of just how significant the forestry industry is, and the kind of community we have here.
