When Golden Skybridge first opened its doors in 2021, the suspension bridges were just the beginning. Since then, the adventure park has become known across Canada for its thrilling experiences and stunning scenery, earning national recognition as home to the country’s highest suspension bridge.
But the Skybridge team hasn’t stopped there.
In just a few short years, they’ve expanded with a series of new attractions—from the adrenaline-pumping Canyon Swing to the fan-favourite Mountain Coaster launched in 2023. And now, they’ve added something a little different—an amenity built not for thrill, but for connection, celebration, and community: the Purcell Pavilion.
Tucked away from the busier areas of the park, the Purcell Pavilion is a beautiful timber-frame, open-air structure named for its breathtaking view of the Purcell Mountains. Designed with flexibility in mind, it features ample seating, a commercial-grade kitchen, and a peaceful setting ideal for everything from tour groups and team meetings to birthdays and weddings.
“We’re happy to offer a private, quiet space away from the main area,” said Jason Crawford, General Manager of Golden Skybridge. “It’s a great option for groups looking to gather, celebrate, or host events in a more relaxed setting.”
Crawford, who provided a personal tour of the new space, shared plans for continued improvements, including an expanded deck and a drop-down screen for presentations.
While the structure was built by the Skybridge team, the project also featured local expertise, with electrical and plumbing work completed by Golden-area contractors and timber supplied by Canadian Timberframes.
“We really wanted to build something that contributes to the park but also serves the community,” Crawford said. “We’re looking forward to seeing the different kinds of events this space will host in the future — even weddings!”
To make private events as seamless as possible, guests attending functions at the Pavilion will receive a separate wristband and enjoy a dedicated entry process, bypassing general admission lines and keeping things easy and efficient.
While things are already bustling at the Skybridge this summer, Crawford hinted that there’s plenty more in the works.
“We’ve got some exciting long-term plans—five, even ten-year projects—that we’re not quite ready to share yet,” he said. “But this is just the beginning of what’s to come at Golden Skybridge.”
